Samsung is again the largest producer of smartphones. The South Korean company had been shaken by Apple in the fourth quarter of last year but resolved the US company in recent months. This appears from figures from market researcher Canalys.
Samsung made 23.6 percent of smartphones in the first quarter. This means that the company continues to be iPhone maker Apple. The Americans have a market share of 15.5 percent. The Chinese companies Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo, fill the top five. Those five companies make two-thirds of all smartphones.
In absolute numbers, the number of smartphones sold in the first three months of this year was lower than in the same period last year. 337 million phones were sold from January to March. Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi sold more phones than a year earlier. The latter doubled his sales well.
